Note: This content came from my older Wordpress website, before I was even on Neocities. As a result, this doesn't really reflect the direction I've taken the site in since then. At one point I had intended to simply do quick single paragraph summaries of a ton of games, but I've since decided that more in-depth coverage of individual games is more my style. I'm keeping the pages up for the sake of preservation, but the content here is kinda trash.
Namco’s style needs little introduction as they’re arguably the most iconic arcade game developers of all time. None the less, their library is impressively varied and over the span of their 40+ years of development it’s neat to see how their design evolved. Cutesy action puzzlers such as maze games were a common staple, alongside a mixture of racing games, shoot-em-ups, and once they made the leap to polygonal 3D, a lot of fighting games and light gun shooters. Their library parallels SEGA’s in many ways, especially by the 3D era.
All my coverage so far of Namco’s arcade history is here, divided up into sub-categories of the system boards the games were developed for. Click one of the banners below to see all the games for that system board that I have covered. More will be added as I play through more games:
